Have you ever had a moment when driving and the scene you came across was just unbelievable? So gorgeous you tell yourself… “Man, that would be just the best picture!”? I feel these moments are rare… mostly with sunsets and when I come across beautiful landscapes. Well about 2 months ago, I was driving home and saw a field I couldn’t get over. It was so gorgeous. As we all do… I kept driving and thought, “gosh that would make an awesome spot for a photo session.”
I moved on and a week later had a friend over that told me she drove by the same field and said that the flowers are rare and don’t often grow like this in huge groups let alone an entire field of them. She commented that I should do a photo shoot there. The fact that she told me that and that I had the same thoughts and came to the same conclusion felt like I should pursue this nagging idea. And am I glad that I listened!
With the idea fresh at hand, I decided to see if I could make a session happen at this ideal spot. I posted on Facebook to find the right models and within an hour I had 2 sisters ready to jump at the chance. One is becoming a senior, the other just finished her first year of college.
This field was just beyond amazing. There are just some sessions that are seriously soooooo life-giving. This session was most definitely one of them. Both Gwen and Olivia were so sweet, so fun to work with and just made my job so easy. The flowers brought out their natural beauty and really made both of them pop out from the background. It truly was one of the most epic sessions!
To Olivia – Congrats on becoming a Senior!
(and a note to everyone else… when you have that idea to pull over and grab the shot, this is a great example of when pulling over and grabbing the shot was well worth it).
